Hello Chris,
We’re writing to inform you about changes to the Audit Logs service.

Audit Logs are now regional
As of June 15, 2026, Audit Logs are stored in the region where events are generated. For example, an event generated in us-central1 is stored in us-central1 and must be queried from that region.
This applies to all access methods, including the Web Console, API, and CLI.
For backward compatibility, queries that do not specify a region will continue to return logs from the default region, eu-north1. However, eu-north1 is not a global view and should not be relied upon to retrieve a complete set of Audit Logs across all regions.

Control Plane events transition
To support migration, Control Plane events will be written both to eu-north1 and to the region where they are generated until August 13, 2026.
After August 13, 2026, Control Plane events will no longer be duplicated to eu-north1 and will be stored only in the region where they are generated. Events generated in eu-north1 will continue to be stored there.

What you need to do
If your integrations, dashboards, alerts, SIEM pipelines, automation, or operational processes assume that all Audit Logs are available from eu-north1 or a single location, update them before August 13, 2026.
In particular, ensure that:
the appropriate region is selected when viewing Audit Logs in the Web Console;
API and CLI integrations explicitly specify the required region;
log collection and compliance workflows collect logs from all relevant regions.

Timeline
June 15, 2026 — Audit Logs become regional.
June 15 – August 13, 2026 — Control Plane events are available both in eu-north1 and in their regional location.
August 13, 2026 — Control Plane events become fully regional.
